I must admit that when I got this beautiful bottle of Lancôme's La vie est belle Illuminating Fragrance Oil in my hands and realised what it was I was extremely excited. I have mentioned here before about my huge love of face and body oils but this is the first time I've used one that combines a specific fragrance with a nourishing oil and it makes so much sense.
There are many highlights to this product, but the first thing I noticed was the list ingredients that make this product work to enrich your skin. This dry oil contains sweet almond plant oil which is a well known element in many of best moisturisers on the market. It has both softening and nourishing properties which make it suitable for even sensitive or dry skin. La vie est belle Illuminating Fragrance oil also contains apricot heart plant oil which is rich in fatty acids and antioxidants that help both repair and tone your skin and, finally, it also contains sesame plant oil which is a natural anti-inflammatory with healing properties. Such a lovely mix of goodness and it leaves your skin so soft, which I noticed lasts for hours after you apply it.
The illuminating oil also does exactly what it says on the tin and leaves your skin looking healthy and illuminated. It struck me this would be perfect if you're going to any event, night out or wedding. It looks ideal with a touch of summer colour- either natural or from a bottle- and, like the skin softening element, the glow this oil provides lasts for hours so you're left with lovely healthy looking, illuminated skin.
Finally, what really drew me to this product was how much it does all at once. While nourishing your skin deep down and also illuminating it, the biggest element I, and anyone who has been around me since I got it, noticed was the fragrance. La vie est belle is a Lancôme favourite but what sets this oil apart is that once you apply it the fragrance lasts the whole day, longer than any perfume I've ever worn. You're applying it to your whole body and, unlike most oils, the nature of this product means the scent stays with you from morning to night. Which, for me, makes it a bit of a revelation! It's a gorgeous, romantic scent which is a classic but the fact that it nourishes, softens and illuminates as well as making you smell fabulous all day long makes it a very exciting purchase.
The very popular La vie est belle fragrance was three years in the making by three of French perfumery's most respected noses: Oliver Polge, Dominiquw Ropion and Anne Flipo. The scent blends a very appealing mixture of Iris Pallida, patcjouli, vanilla, praline, tonka bean, Tunisian orange blossom and white jasmine.
One thing I will say, with regards to the scent lasting all day is, do get a spritz of the perfume before you make the decision to buy this product so you know what you'll be smelling like for the duration of this very generously sized bottle! Everyone's taste for fragrances is different so you have to love this scent before you buy!
Lancôme's La vie est belle Illuminating Fragrance Oil is a dry oil which means it's not greasy and is suitable for all over body use and can also be used in small amounts on lackluster hair, especially for dry or split ends. And the bonus is your hair will smell amazing too!
