A Peep Inside Penelope's Bed #1

Here at Penelope's Bed I am always trying out new skincare, makeup, books and lots more to find the best products to recommend to you, the readers. Here's a little peep at some skincare treats I'm currently trying out.

Elemis Hydra-Nourish Night Cream (€51.50 for 50ml)

This is a little gem I just started using after hearing a lot of good things about both it and the brand itself. This Hydro-Nourish Night Cream feels so wonderfully silky on application and your skin feels immediately smoother and softer. It works as an anti-oxidant and also replenishes the skin's much-needed moisture which helps your complexion look really revitalized and a lot clearer and smoother.

Hydration, as far as my experience goes, is the number one thing to look out for when it comes to skincare, which can be addressed quite easily by drinking lots of water and using a product like this which gives your skin a much-needed hydration boost. It really works wonders at clearing up your skin overall, completely zaps spots and you'll notice over time that adequate hydration really diminishes fine lines.

The quality of this product is superb and quite luxurious and I've definitely noticed a difference in the morning after using this the night before.

Kiehl's Creme de Corps (From €10)

This is known by so many to be the best body lotion ever, by general consensus. So many beauty magazines, celebrities, makeup artists swear by this stuff and I have been using this religiously over the past couple of years and can completely see what the hype is all about. It's such a basic, effective skin hydrator which really helps the skin's elasticity, prevents stretch marks and also gives your skin a lovely glow. I've been using it even more lately to prolong the little bit of a tan I got over the summer and to keep my skin from drying out as the weather gets colder.

I never really gave my body the moisturing I gave my face until I discovered this cream but now I use this almost as much as my face moisturiser!

Urban Decay B6 Vitamin-Infused Complexion Prep Spray (From €14 for 30ml)

This prep spray from Urban Decay is such a gem. I've been using it every day for the past few months and got it at a time when the weather was so hot that walking from A to B led to face meltdown! Containing nourishing B6, this spray absorbs excess oil, minimizes pores and reduces redness and is so perfect to spritz on your face first thing in the morning to wake your face up, give it a lovely, healthy glow and prep your skin before you apply makeup or just wear it alone. I've also found it brilliant to spritz on during the day to give my face and makeup a freshen up. It's extremely handy that you can by a 30ml travel sized version because it's such a brilliant product to have in your bag at all times. And as far as I can see it lasts for so long so it's great value for your pennies too!

Trilogy Eye Contour Cream (€32.95)

Trilogy is a brand that wowed me to a huge degree after using their Rosehip Oil on some severe scars I had. It is such a miracle product and one I think everyone should try to see the magic I witnessed! Which is why I recently decided to try more from their range so I started with this Eye Contour cream.

The best part of this eye cream is how soothing it is for weary eyes. It's to be applied morning and night and is targeted for the delicate eye contour area to prevent fine lines.

Kiehl's Hydro-Plumping Re-Texturising Serum Concentrate (€49)

This serum is the newest innovation from Kiehl's who is often in the habit of making serums that are simply wonder products and do exactly what they promise. While this has a long and lofty title, what this really seems to do is give your skin the biggest burst of hydration I've ever witnessed. It just soaks into your skin in seconds and it laps it up like nothing I've ever seen and, over time, gives your skin such a radiant glow. What I've noticed after a couple of weeks using this is there is an obvious look your skin develops, a much smoother appearance. It seems to make your skin younger looking remarkably quickly. I can't wait to keep using this for another while to give it a full and proper review but, for now, first impressions are very good indeed!

Kiehl's Skin Rescuer (€35.00)

I've been rabbiting on about this product from the early stages of Penelope's Bed and you can read a full in-depth review of this product here but this is a little skin savior I keep coming back to and, after a recent few weeks where I ended up traveling the length and breath of Ireland and over to Devon for hens and weddings this was my number one go-to to keep some balance for my poor, put-upon skin! I couldn't recommend this cream more for any stressful skin situation!

Have you tried any of these products out?
