An Introduction to Eve Lom

Eve Lom is a brand that I just came across recently and from the very first product I was hooked. Here, I look at a couple of their most renowned products and fill you in on why they are cult classics.

Eve Lom's products really are a thing to behold and their famed Cleanser really is a wonder. You have to try it to really understand why there is so much fuss about a simple cleanser but simple it is not and little pot of magic is a lot more suitable description. Everything I have tried from the brand is the best version of each particular product on the market and here I take a look at the Eve Lom Cleanser, Kiss Mix lip balm and the Morning Time Cleanser. Once you discover the brand it's very hard not to want to try everything they produce to be quite honest and see what other wonders they are capable of.

Eve Lom Cleanser

If you Google reviews of Eve Lom's cult Cleanser and you'll just find article after article praising this product to the hills. Which, before I tried it, I really didn't understand. I thought, a cleanser is a cleanser, some are much better than others but when it comes down to it how can this particular one be so special; worth all of the adulation and rather steep price tag.

And then I tried it, and five minutes later I was sold, hook, line, and sinker; it's one of the best products I have ever used. The pot of Cleanser comes with a lovely soft Eve Lom muslin cloth. The cleanser itself looks kind of like ointment and smells really strongly of their skin nourishing ingredients. At first I thought oh dear, this will be a time consuming endeavor with the three step cleansing but actually it's very quick and effective.

Just get a little nub of the cleanser and massage into your face in circular movements, heat up the cloth in hot water, pop it on your face for a minute and breathe in the oils that smell like a very expensive salon, then use the cloth in circular motions to gently exfoliate while removing the cleanser. And, as a final step, rinse the cloth with cold water and pop that on your face for half a minute to close your pores, et voila!

Straight away you look in the mirror and witness the brilliance of this product which I think is a mixture of a cleanser, serum and moituriser in one because, unlike many cleansers, it doesn't dry out your face; in fact it does the very opposite. The ingredients work straight and the result is a gorgeous, dewy, squeaky clean face in a matter of minutes. It really is a wonder product. I used a trial size of it in the space of a month or so and I'm all out now and couldn't be more devastated quite frankly!

As I said this product is not cheap but is truly brilliant. There is a variety of pot sizes form 100ml to 450ml and cost from about €50 to €120 and are available from Space NK.

Morning Time Cleanser

With the original cleanser I used it fairly sparingly, maybe 3-4 times a week, then used the Morning Time Cleanser every morning and the routine is slightly different. The solution isn't as thick as the original but smells exactly the same. The instructions for use are, like the original cleanser, very like a facial. You massage the cleanser into dry skin in circular movements for several minutes and then wash off with warm water, though I've also been using the muslin cloth and technique above here and there and again you're left with beautiful bright skin. Such a luxurious morning treat giving your skin the most nourishing start to the day and a lovely healthy radiance to boot!

The Eve Lom Morning Time Cleanser comes in about €50 and is available from Space NK.

Kiss Mix

Eve Lom's Kiss Mix was the first product I tried from the brand and it sucked me in from the first moment I used it. I featured a review of it here in this piece about the best lip balms on the market. As with all Eve Lom's products this lip balm is a little bit unique and is of such high quality. The white creamy balm is gorgeous to use, leaving your lips with a minty tingle and on a practical level it really does such a great job moisturising the most hard done by lips. Another gem for Eve Lom.

Kiss Mix is available at Space NK and comes in at about €20. A fancy lip balm with a difference!

All of the Eve Lom products mentioned in this article are available from Space NK on Grafton Street and online at http://uk.spacenk.com/
