Age of Innocence: Lancôme's French Innocence Collection

From the moment the details of Lancôme's latest collection crossed my path I got struck with such a flutter of the feeling of Paris in the Springtime. The French Innocence Collection is full of gorgeous  youthful pastel shades that mix light and breezy daytime with striking but bright night time looks. And the most delectable eyeshadow palette to suit all seasons!

Lancôme's recently launched French Innocence Collection is such a breath of fresh air and a burst of light and colour to break through the glum January blues and glib winter days. I love the youthful shades throughout the eye shadows, lip glosses and nails shades of this collection, I want it all!

Aptly featuring new Lancôme Ambassadress Alma Jodorwsky, the whole collection is pretty stunning but it's fair to say the centerpiece is surely the My French Palette (€55) which includes a collection of very neutral to pastel spring time shades but, when you lift the secret compartment, there is a small selection of more striking, colourful,  night time shade for a more sultry look. It's the perfect little palette to have in your bag to bring you from a natural, pretty day time look to smokier evening eyes.

I love the bright pastel shades in the selection of nail polishes from this range so much, they're so candy coloured and cheery and a brilliant way to brighten up the short, wintery days. These Vernis in Love nail lacquers come in at €19 each and I can personally testify to the quality and longevity of Lancôme polishes; more expensive nail colours don't always pay off, I've tried a couple of ridiculously priced nail polishes that chipped in less than a day but I was pleasantly surprised after trying a few from Lancôme over the past year how long they last without chipping!

The whole collection is consistently full of lovely pinks, nudes, turquoises, greens and blues and is really such an uplifting palette. If this trend is anything to go by for what will be in fashion in terms of clothes this coming season we're in for a bright powder coloured Spring! Everything in the collection complements everything else and lends to both a youthful and classy look, if worn correctly! These Kohl Hypnose Waterproof Eyeliners in Vert Tuileries and Gris Rivol (€23) make for a perfect accompaniment to the eye shadow palette but are also ideal to wear on their own.

Lancôme has always produced such striking lip glosses and the selection from this collection is no exception. The lip glosses, Lip Lover (€22), from left to right below are 400, 401, 402. It's hard to see from the photos but all three are such gorgeous, rich, fun shades of pink. And the quality is perfect, the applicator makes popping these on a dream and their lasting power is so surprisingly good for a lip gloss. I noticed the colour stayed for hours without reapplication which I really wouldn't have expected from a lip gloss.

I tried out Lip Lover shade 402 and it's one of my favourite shades of all time, quite a cerise pink and one I find very hard to come by. The strongest shade of the three lip glosses, this one would look perfect with the more nude or light pink shades in the palette so the emphasis is on the strong pink in the lips. If you have green eyes like I do the shade of pink really makes the green in your eyes pop.

Lancôme's French Innocence Collection is such a gorgeous spring palette and the perfect makeup to look forward to longer brighter days... even if the wind is howling through the blizzard outside!
The French Innocence Collection from Lancôme is available since January 1st from Lancôme counters nationwide.
