Picture Perfect

I have always been quite underwhelmed by the idea of any primer-style product. I tried quite a few over time and I just couldn't figure out what major benefit they represented other than smoothing skin out a bit to prep it for makeup application. However, two weeks into using Kiehl's Micro-Blur Skin Perfector daily and my mind has definitely been opened and a fresh-faced favourite has been found.

Kiehl's Micro-Blur Skin Perfector promises two things: 1. To instantly refine the skin's texture and minimize the appearances of pores while 2. Improving skin's quality over time. The latter was definitely the selling point for me but the first really shocked me. It really does what it says it will do which can either make a great primer or base for foundation or it actually works incredibly well as an alternaitve to any foundation at all, especially in the summer months. It blurs out imperfections, fills in bumps and creases and leaves the skin silky smooth and, as many people have noted when reviewing this, Photoshopped looking - which is a touch of an exaggeration but there is a very  noticeable smoothing out of skin immediately.

I have to admit that foundation is not my strong point so I often go without it during the day even when I wear eye liner or lipstick, especially during the warm summer months, I always feel that it's important to let the skin breathe when the weather is warm so I avoid pore-clogging layers of makeup as much as possible. I know I will have to adapt to wearing some daily as time goes on but when I came across Micro-Blur Skin Perfector it filled a major gap in both my skincare and makeup routines. To mix the two is a revelation for someone like me who cares about skincare more than skin covering via makeup - if I really had to choose...

What would a Kiehl's product be without doing some good over all and the promise of improving the skin's quality and texture over time by using Lipo Hydroxy Acid, Bark and Lentil extracts was a big selling point for me and should be for anyone investing in a primer.

To sum up: On the surface I really noticed such a smoothing out of flaws instantly and I've been using this daily instead of foundation, although it works ever better as a skin smoother and primer under makeup. Even after a few days I was shocked to see that one morning, before I even applied the product, I could see that already there was a definite improvement in my skin overall. Which makes this one of my top skincare finds of the summer.
